Destin, Panama City and Port St. Joe

Choctawhatchee Bay, the Emerald Coast beaches, St. Andrews Bay, Mexico Beach and St. Joseph Bay. Today's fishing report, plus live tides, wind and weather for all 11 towns on this stretch.

Fishing report · Monday, Oct 26

Sight-fished reds in Choctawhatchee. Specks on the Eagle Harbor flats.

Choctawhatchee Bay reds are still in the familiar guts and potholes on the flats after the storm. After the last front, chunks of cut mullet on a Carolina rig outfished live bait. Three-to-four-pound Spanish mackerel are on the flat edges with some bluefish, and mangrove snapper are on the Destin and Mid-Bay bridges and the jetties.

Parts of St. Andrews Bay are still stained from the rain, but the fish are biting. The Panama City Beach surf has pompano, whiting, reds and black drum in the troughs and sandbar cuts, and the piers are the place for Spanish, bluefish and pompano. Over at Port St. Joe, live shrimp up the Intracoastal caught sheepshead, mangroves, reds and trout, and soft plastics on the three-foot flats around Eagle Harbor were loaded with speckled trout.
