Mobile Bay, Dauphin Island, the Alabama beaches, Perdido Bay, Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. Today's fishing report, plus live tides, wind and weather for all 13 towns on this stretch.
The first real taste of fall has shrimp, bait and early bird activity showing toward the north end of Mobile Bay, and speckled trout staging around the river mouths. Guides say a few more fronts should push them toward the Causeway and up the rivers. Farther south, cobia, tripletail, jack crevalle and flounder are keeping the bite busy, and whiting are steady from shore.
From Perdido Key to Pensacola Beach, fish shrimp in the first trough for whiting and farther out for pompano. In Pensacola Bay, reds are on docks and grass edges, trout are over the grass under a cork, and bull reds are on the channel edges at Pensacola Pass. Sheepshead are on the bridge pilings for fiddler crabs.
