The nearest NOAA prediction station is about 18 miles away, so local tide timing here can run differently. Wind often matters more than the predicted tide in these shallow waters.
A Port Isabel guide says the Lower Laguna Madre fished consistently through the first half of October as mild fronts came through. Trout, redfish and snook led the catch, with a few flounder, all on topwaters and plastic worms. Live bait has been hard to come by, so plan on artificials. Early trout are on two-to-three-foot grass flats and the spoil islands along the ICW, then slide to the drop-offs and guts later in the day; most reds are in less than two feet of water.
