It's our booking fee. It holds your trip with your captain. You pay it to us online (through Stripe) when you book. The trip price itself you pay to your captain.
Storm or captain cancels? Pick a new day or keep your $29.95 as a credit. You never lose it. Your captain decides if it is safe to go. Open My Trip to message your captain about a new day.
You pay the trip price directly to your captain, under your captain's own terms. We don't collect it. Online, you pay only the $29.95 booking fee. Your receipt email shows the trip price and your captain's phone and email. Tips are never expected, always appreciated (most people tip 10–20%).
Open My Trip, type your email, then type the code we email you. Tap Can't go? Cancel and keep my $29.95 credit. Your credit code shows on the screen and comes by email. We tell your captain for you. The booking fee is not refunded; it becomes a credit. Each captain has a rule (3, 7 or 14 days) for how early to tell them. It is on their page and your receipt.
Open My Trip and tap Message my captain. Tap I want to change my day and type the days that work for you. Your captain answers within 24 hours.
Every captain tells us they hold a captain's license and insurance. When you see ✓ License checked, it means we looked at their license and insurance papers ourselves.
Each captain's page has a list of what's provided and what to bring. Most people bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, food, water and a light rain jacket. If your state needs a fishing license for you, bring it.
A credit pays the $29.95 booking fee on one future trip. Credits do not expire. When you book, type your code in the Have a credit code? box and tap the yellow button. Use the same email the credit was sent to. You can see your credits in My Trip.
